Wendigo in Forest

The wendigo is one of my favorite mythical creatures, mostly because while dragons were once considered frightening when people still believed in them, this motherfucker can still be downright creepy.

Unfortunately he's inaccurately portrayed most of the time whenever someone uses him in fiction, Charmed being a more prominent example. "Like a werewolf, only meaner"? Rape the culture in the ass, why don't you...

My favorite designs for him (also two great examples of the mythology done well) have been in Supernatural and the Hellboy spin-off, BPRD: The Universal Machine, so this image is inspired by both.
